How to take maca daily: dose, timing and simple recipes
Start low, take it early, keep it consistent. A practical protocol plus three ways to make it taste good.

Dose: start at half
Begin with 1.5 g (about half a teaspoon) of gelatinized maca daily for the first week, then move to 3 g. Most studied protocols sit between 1.5 g and 3 g per day; higher amounts rarely add benefit and often add stomach complaints.
Timing: morning, with food
Take maca with breakfast or a mid-morning drink. Because the effect on energy is real if subtle, evening doses can make it harder to fall asleep for sensitive people.
Consistency beats quantity. Five days a week for two months will do far more than a heavy dose taken sporadically.
Cycling and breaks
Many long-term users follow a rhythm of five days on, two days off, or three weeks on and one week off. There is no strong evidence that cycling is necessary, but it does make it easy to notice what maca is actually doing for you.
Three ways to drink it
Golden latte: 3 g maca, warm oat milk, a pinch of cinnamon and a little honey. The malty caramel note of gelatinized maca works best here.
Cacao morning: 3 g maca with raw cacao and banana blended cold — the classic Andean pairing.
Straight into coffee: stir 1.5 g into an americano. It softens the acidity and adds body without tasting like a supplement.
